In our program, we strive to preserve löwchen by breeding for health, temperament, structural soundness, and breed type. All of our dogs are health tested to the standards set by the Löwchen Club of America, in collaboration with the Canine Health Information Center. We strive to be transparent and make informed decisions on what we choose to breed. or not to breed. If any dogs in our program have less than favorable test results, the results will be listed in OFA and we will take into account the opinion of our mentors and our knowledge of issues in the pedigree when making breeding decisions. It is important to note that while embark links are listed on each individual dog, we are currently unsure of how accurate the genetic markers are for löwchen, so please do not interpret any carrier/at risk/affected dogs as concrete test results. Embark is just a tool that we can use to help us make informed breeding decisions and hopefully by submitting our dogs' DNA, we can help further research for developing accurate testing for löwchen.
